1. In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products?
The media product we produced is of a musical biopic drama. This links to the genre biopic drama by using a biographical story about a boy who’s trying to get his big break in the music world. He then makes a bad deal with the devil which then turns into a drama about his journey making good and bad decisions along the way.

Evaluation Q2 (Jason Bremner)
2. How effective is the combination of your main product and ancillary texts?
Magazine cover + Poster
The combination of our main product, which is the movie, combined with our ancillary texts, which is our poster and magazine cover creates a feeling of awareness by linking the three together in similar ways. The magazine cover and poster both use the same image as well as the second to last shot in the film shows Jack with his back to the camera portraying all 3 images of him possibly turning his back on his previous life all to become famous. The poster and magazine cover both portray Jack at a calm point behind the piano, which is mirrored with the movie having a slow pace that has calm acoustic music over slow moving shots. This could be representing the genre of the film being calm but increasing in intensity over the course of the plot.

3. What have you learned from your audience feedback?
The feed back we received from our audience was that it was good in some places and is a bit misses leading places.
The audience like the way we showed jack (the main character/the singer) in his down moments other than high moments because it showed that jack had a personality to him and was a good character to watch, they also liked the way we captured the shots on stage of jack, for example they said that they liked the way the curtains opened and then the lights shone on jack portraying his moment of fame. Our soundtrack to the trailer was also a point because it related to jacks story. From these good points we have learned that we can portray jacks personality in the right way, that we can provide a good choose of sound track that can relate to the story and is not going to change the mood and message, and lastly that we can provide god verity of camera angles to capture jack on stage.
The audience did not understand the way we tried to show the devils influence and interference with the story, which didn’t help the audience realising that we was trying to portray the Faustus legend. So from this we can learn that we must not focus on one thing for example the main characters personality but try and focus on the message and the character because it is important to do both otherwise our audience will not understand it.

Faust Research (Jason Bremner)
Faust
Faust or Faustus which is Latin for "auspicious" or "lucky" is the protagonist of a classic German legend. Though a highly successful scholar, he is unsatisfied, and makes a deal with the Devil, exchanging his soul for unlimited knowledge and worldly pleasures. Faust's tale is the basis for many forms of artistic entertainment like music and film. The meaning of the word and name has been reinterpreted through the ages. Faust, and the adjective Faustian, is often used to describe an arrangement in which an ambitious person surrenders moral integrity in order to achieve power and success: the proverbial "deal with the devil." The terms can also refer to an unquenchable thirst for knowledge.
Summary of the Story
Faust is bored and disappointed. He decides to call on the Devil for further knowledge and magic powers with which to indulge all the pleasures of the world. In response, the Devil's representative Mephistopheles appears. He makes a bargain with Faust: Mephistopheles will serve Faust with his magic powers for a term of years, but at the end of the term, the Devil will claim Faust's soul and Faust will be eternally damned.
During the term, Faust makes use of Mephistopheles in various ways. In many versions of the story, Mephistopheles helps him to seduce a beautiful and innocent girl, usually named Gretchen, who is destroyed. However, Gretchen's naive innocence saves her in the end and she enters Heaven. However, Faust is irrevocably corrupted; when the term ends, the Devil carries him off to Hell.
Musician
The idea of "selling your soul for instrumental mastery/fame" has occurred several times within music usually in guitar dominated genres and more specifically in pre-World War II rural Blues. Bluesmans' crossroads, located in Tchula Junction, Mississippi, is said to be the universal meeting grounds for such exchange.
• Niccolo Paganini, Italian violinist, who may not have started the rumor but played along with it.
• Giuseppe Tartini, Venetian violinist and composer, who believed that his Devil's Trill Sonata was inspired by the Devil's appearance before him in a dream.
• Tommy Johnson, blues musician
• Robert Johnson, blues musician, who some people claimed he met with Satan at the crossroads and signed over his soul to play the blues and gain mastery of the guitar.
