2. How effective is the combination of your main product and ancillary texts?
Magazine cover + Poster
The combination of our main product, which is the movie, combined with our ancillary texts, which is our poster and magazine cover creates a feeling of awareness by linking the three together in similar ways. The magazine cover and poster both use the same image as well as the second to last shot in the film shows Jack with his back to the camera portraying all 3 images of him possibly turning his back on his previous life all to become famous. The poster and magazine cover both portray Jack at a calm point behind the piano, which is mirrored with the movie having a slow pace that has calm acoustic music over slow moving shots. This could be representing the genre of the film being calm but increasing in intensity over the course of the plot.
